Voila, The Nursery
Sunday, May 23, 2010 at 3:11AM
So, without further ado, here is the nursery:
A few things have been added that aren't in the photo. Where the swing is now sits a pink and white Diaper Champ (which I heard is better than a Diaper Genie) and a tall, white wicker round hamper. My mom even put all these pink flowers on the porch outside so I could see them as I sit on the rocker and nurse.
We've now got a changing pad on here (with a sage green cover) and all the necessities!
At first, when I told my husband that the thicker stripes were going to be the green ones he was all concerned that it'd look more like a boy's room. And I was all, "Hold up, buddy! You didn't marry this lady for NOTHIN'! She's got SOME sense of design." And now he knows not to question me. (Although, he should have learned that lesson long ago.)
I hope the animals don't freak my daughter out. I had this needlepoint thing when I was little that was all these jungle animals and the zebra in it used to STARE at me. I know he was looking at me. And in kind of like a, "Go ahead, go to sleep. I'll be watching you." kind of way. I hope she thinks the animals in her room are friendly and like she'd like to have tea with them.
For those who want to know where anything in the room is from, just leave a comment or contact me through my contact me page and I'll get you the information!

Wow, that room is gorgeous! It looks like something out of a design magazine. We don't own our home and we plan to move in the next year or so, so we didn't really design a nursery - we just have the essentials in there, plus a bunch of stuff of our own that we unfortunately have nowhere else to put.
Your little lady will love this room, for certain. It's amazing.
(And I'll verify that the Diaper Champ is awesome and way better than the Diaper Genie. We adore our Diaper Champ.)
I love the pink and green! It makes me wish we had gone with colors instead of the neutral walls.
Oooh that's amazing beautiful! I'm so jealous and happy for you! I hope your baby will love this room. :)
Oh I absolutely love this room! And your baby will too!
Thanks for confirming the Diaper Champ awesomeness! Good to know.
Aw, thanks, Liz! Well, neutral is always easy to paint over!
Thanks! It's always nice to her positive things!
Thanks, Amy! And thanks for stopping by!
OMG, you are so talented with this design thing! Do you happen to work with it? Has it ever crossed your mind? Because I'm going to be totally honest with you and say this nursery room is far better than the ones they feature in Design Websites about nursery rooms.
Also, I have no idea if my last statement is understandable in English. But you get what I mean, right? :P
Yay! 10 days or less. I swear I'm so excited over this. SO EXCITED. Specially because you're a first time mommy so... I'd love to know it through your perspective on these things.
Completely GORG! My new nursery inspiration :) It will be a while before I can go all out, because we don't know where we'll be living yet. But anyway... your little girl will LOVE this room! She will have to invite my little girl over so they can play in it together.
And I've been meaning to ask you, how far along were you in the pic to the right? --->
Thanks for the compliments! No, I don't work with it really, but I'll help my friends with ideas! I know - getting closer and closer!
Funny you should ask...I'm about to post about it today!
Woo hoo! Yes, they can play together! You're have a girl, then? I don't think I knew that.
But, have you ever considered working with it? For real? Maybe when your baby grows up more, become a toddler or something. Because, girl... you. are. talented.
That is an ADORABLE nursery. It really, really gives me baby fever. :-) Great job on it. It should be in a magazine.
:-)
The nursery is beautiful!
Who would want to go on a part time diet for?. Eat what you want to, just remember to keep fit
I love the painted stripes - my husband and I are doing a pink and sage nursery for our first little girl and would like to copy it! What kind of tape did you use, and what was your process?
Thanks!
Alison
@Alison, Hey Allison! SO sorry I didn't reply to you sooner! I was going to do a video how-to and post it on my blog, which I think would be A LOT easier than trying to explain it. Did you still want a how-to?
